This image caught my eye the other day.
It says “May you appreciate your body in this moment just as it is.”
This is the type of sentiment I see a lot in the context of exercise and training and weight loss. But not in the context of diabetes.
What would life with diabetes be like if it wasn’t continually filled with turning a critical eye on our bodies and behavior — on ourselves?
The reality is that sometimes we simply cannot solve the puzzle that is a blood glucose reading. The math that makes up the meal checks out. The routine of medication is the same as always. The impact from activity is usual. And yet somehow the result that is a blood glucose reading ends up being something unexpected.
What if we were kind to ourselves and our bodies in this moment?
